Relationships, Health and Sex Education

Relationships, Health and Sex Education at Woden Primary School is taught through the 1Decision curriculum.

Although Sex Education is not Statutory, From September 2026 Relationships and Health education is now required to be taught throughout all Primary Schools.

Our Sex Education is delivered by school nurses and is in addition to the statutory science curriculum and provides factual and age-appropriate knowledge about conception and birth. It also covers the use of correct terminology when talking about private and sexual areas.

Parents are given the opportunity to discuss content with subject leaders and given the right to withdraw.
