French Day at Woden!
On Wednesday 25th June, we celebrated French day – the foreign language we learn at Woden. The French teacher from Heath Park secondary school was kind enough to visit with her students and play French games with each class, imbedding the French language in fun, inventive ways. Not only that but a fabulous French story teller came to tell the stories of Goldilocks and The Three Little Pigs, to Years 3 and 4, completely in French. The children really got involved and learnt key phrases that can be applied in their learning.
In addition, each year group got creative and built the Eifel Tower using different methods – clay, cardboard, straws and even matchsticks while the kitchen served up authentic French dishes for lunch! It was a fantastic day and a brilliant chance for children to immerse themselves in our Primary Language of French. Ask your child what new French phrases/words they learnt!
