Woden’s Wolves Olympic Torch Relay
On Tuesday 4th June, Woden gave a very warm welcome to the pupils and staff of Heath Park as they delivered the Wolves Olympic Torch as part of the city-wide relay. Each year group had come to school dressed in the colours of the Olympic rings and the hall was awash with colour. The torch was brought into the hall to the sound of the French National Anthem and the glorious sounds made by the Arts Councillors playing their instruments.
On Wednesday 5th June, the Sports Councillors continued the relay by taking the torch, very proudly, to Thomas Telford UTC where they were greeted with music, flags and balloons.
This was such a momentous occasion for everyone and a really wonderful way to countdown to the 2024 Olympics, being in held in Paris, this summer.
